About the Role: You will be responsible for conceptualizing and producing print-ready artwork for our branded merchandise line, from apparel and accessories to collectibles and plush toys, ensuring our game's visual identity translates beautifully into physical products.
Stairway Games is headquartered in Bali but has over 100 people from all around the globe. We’re a fully funded private company with creative freedom and active founders working to grow our studio to deliver high-quality games from Indonesia. Key Responsibilities
- Design artwork for merchandise, including apparel (t-shirts, hoodies, hats), stickers, enamel pins, plush toys, posters, and accessories
- Translate in-game characters, environments, and brand assets into merchandise-ready artwork optimized for various production methods (screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, injection molding, etc.)
- Collaborate with the art and marketing teams to ensure designs align with brand guidelines and game aesthetics
- Work directly with vendors and manufacturers to ensure design intent is preserved through production
- Research merchandise trends and competitor products to bring fresh, market-relevant ideas
- Create mockups and presentations for internal approvals and retail pitches
- Assist with packaging design for physical products
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of graphic design experience, ideally in merchandise, consumer products, or licensing
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Strong understanding of print production processes (color separations, CMYK/Pantone/spot colors, bleed and trim)
- Knowledge of product-specific design constraints (Ex: embroidery stitch limits, screen print color counts, plush pattern construction)
- A portfolio demonstrating strong illustration and typography skills applied to physical products
- Ability to adapt an existing visual style or IP faithfully rather than imposing a personal aesthetic
