1920 are looking for a Pipeline TD/Engineer to join our friendly community in our Bangalore, India office.

About the Role

We're looking for a talented and technically versatile Pipeline Developer to join our VFX studio. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our production technology team. You'll design and maintain the tools and workflows that keep our artists moving, while also providing critical systems support to ensure a stable, efficient studio environment.

What You'll Do

Pipeline Development

  • Design, build, and maintain robust pipeline tools and workflows across all stages of VFX production

  • Develop and extend integrations between DCC applications including Houdini, Maya, and Nuke

  • Build and maintain project tracking and asset management workflows in Ftrack

  • Write clean, maintainable Python across multiple application contexts (standalone, DCC-embedded, web)

  • Collaborate closely with artists, supervisors, and production to identify bottlenecks and deliver practical tooling solutions

  • Contribute to pipeline documentation and best practices

Systems Support

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to studio staff across Linux workstations and the wider production network

  • Manage render farm operations and troubleshoot submission issues

  • Assist with software deployment, licensing, and environment configuration

  • Act as a key point of escalation for pipeline and systems issues during production

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in a pipeline or TD role within a VFX, animation, or games studio

  • Strong Python development skills, you write code that others can maintain

  • Solid working knowledge of Houdini, Maya, and Nuke from a pipeline/TD perspective

  • Experience with Ftrack (APIs, event listeners, custom integrations)

  • Comfortable working in a Linux-based production environment

  • Good understanding of render farm management

  • Strong communication skills, you can translate technical concepts for non-technical colleagues

  • A problem-solver who's pragmatic, collaborative, and calm under production pressure

Nice to Have

  • Experience with USD / Hydra or interest in building towards it

  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

  • Exposure to cloud rendering or hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructure

  • Prior experience in a systems administration or IT support capacity
